A student who was in Parker's English class at the time of the recording told the outlet that her words were taken out of context and that it was part of a discussion exercise related to the class reading of "The Crucible."
"She was expressing how it was ridiculous how we might not be able to call people pedophiles. That we will probably have to start calling them MAPs because it can be offensive to them. The class agreed," Ryann Ruvalcaba, a junior at Franklin High School, told KFOXTV.
I am curious on an investigation if there was some sort of role play where 18 seconds was taken out to make her look bad. If its false then shes still fired. On that hand as well I get the idea of a stigma making those who MIGHT want help fail to seek it but if you have those urges YOU have to go get the help. They do say many of these people are actually victims who had it done to them so the cycle perpetuates itself so if they havent done anything AND openly look for help and to admit their attraction is wrong and they were also a victim them god speed and good luck. On that same hand we can't not be vigilant and give someone who might irreparably damage a small childs mind and body the idea their attraction is socially acceptable by naming it something "nicer". It had a shitty and stigmatizing name because its a shitty and stigmatizing attraction. Go get help and just not be that.
